What is the section labeled “Pantry Ingredients” in my Tasty Grocery Bag?
Pantry Ingredients are pantry staples like salt and pepper – items we think you might already have at home. These items will be listed in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app if they’re needed for a recipe, but are automatically not added to your order. If you’d like to purchase them, simply tap the blue “+” button for that item, and that item will be added to your Tasty Grocery Bag.
What if I want to select a different brand for a product in the Tasty Grocery Bag?
Tap the “Swap” button under any item in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app. From there, you’ll be able to switch to a different brand of the same product. For example, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want a different brand of rice, you can make that substitution directly in the Tasty Grocery bag. However, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want to use potatoes instead, you won’t be able to make that substitution within the Tasty Grocery Bag. Once you tap the “Check out with Walmart” button, you’ll be taken to Walmart where you’ll be able to search for and add potatoes to your order.
Why do you need my location?
We ask for your location in order to give you the most up-to-date estimated pricing and availability information for the products we show in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app.

Preparation
Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC).
With a sharp knife, slice the squash in half. If the squash is too tough, puncture in several places forming a dotted line around the squash. Microwave for 3-5 minutes to soften. Allow to cool before cutting in half.
Scoop out the seeds, brush with oil, and sprinkle with salt, and pepper. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a fork can easily pierce the skin.

Meanwhile, in a blender combine basil, olive oil, vegetarian Parmesan cheese, garlic, pine nuts, and salt. Set aside.
In a pan add the olive oil and garlic over medium-high heat, sautè 30 seconds-1 minute, add in mushrooms and cook for 3 minutes. Add asparagus and stir until cooked.
Remove squash from the oven, with a fork pull at the edges to produce that stringy “spaghetti” quality until you’ve completed both of them.

In the mushroom and asparagus pan combine “spaghetti” and pesto and mix. Return to the squash and serve with or without plates. Garnish with parmesan.
I would start the asparagus before the mushrooms, take much longer to cook down!

I agree the 1 clove of garlic is enough. I used Italian seasoning as well.
Onion makes for a lovely addition in the sautéed veggies. Just pop about a half of a roughly chopped onion in the pan at the same time you add the garlic.

This was such a find for a recipe. Easy and tasteful. But I’m not an asparagus gal and I wanted some protein in this dish so I took out the asparagus and replaced it with a half block of cubed firm tofu and it was great. I also think I was a little short on 2 full cups of basil and it was still fine.

One of the best spaghetti squash recipes I’ve found! The pesto really makes the dish. Also, I added 2 1/2 cloves of garlic bc I love garlic so flavor to your liking

I bought the Kirkland pesto sauce from Costco and used about 3 tablespoons of it just to give the dish a hint of pesto. Added some sliced cherry tomatoes and grated parmesan at the end, and then stuck the whole thing back in the oven for about 10 minutes. Excellent recipe from Tasty!

This was such a great recipe. I was short on time so ended up slicing the squash and placing face down on a glass plate with a small amount of water and microwaving for about 8 mins. Once it cools, you get the same stringy spaghetti in a fourth of the time. Definitely a new weeknight favorite.

I added chicken, pine nuts, and cherry tomatoes with the squash, very good!

It was really good and super easy. I left out the mushrooms and added cherry tomatoes. I saw on another video to stab the squash with a fork down 1side then microwave it for 5 min before cutting it which made it easier. When the squash was in the oven I sautéed the asparagus, added the pesto sauce (store bought), then the sliced tomatoes.

If you use 2 cloves of garlic and half an onion, caramelized, to flavor the mushrooms and asparagus, you can leave out the pesto and this is still delicious.

I added onions (like someone else suggested!! Great idea!) and spinach to the recipe too. My meat-loving men really enjoyed this dish. I put extra pine nuts and Parmesan on top. This recipe is great.
