Pantry Ingredients are pantry staples like salt and pepper – items we think you might already have at home. These items will be listed in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app if they’re needed for a recipe, but are automatically not added to your order. If you’d like to purchase them, simply tap the blue “+” button for that item, and that item will be added to your Tasty Grocery Bag.
What if I want to select a different brand for a product in the Tasty Grocery Bag?
Tap the “Swap” button under any item in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app. From there, you’ll be able to switch to a different brand of the same product. For example, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want a different brand of rice, you can make that substitution directly in the Tasty Grocery bag. However, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want to use potatoes instead, you won’t be able to make that substitution within the Tasty Grocery Bag. Once you tap the “Check out with Walmart” button, you’ll be taken to Walmart where you’ll be able to search for and add potatoes to your order.

Preparation
Combine the pickled carrot and daikon ingredients in a mixing bowl. Set aside and let them pickle for at least an hour.
Combine all of the banh mi meatball ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Form ping pong sized meatballs. Pan fry until browned on all sides and cooked all the way through.
Put together the sandwich. Smear a layer of Sriracha mayo on one half of the baguette, add the meats, a few of the pickled carrots and daikon and some fresh cilantro. Top with other half of baguette.
This turned out awesome with my few tweaks. First I shredded the carrots and daikon with my veggie peeler. Then I added an egg and 1/2 cup of bread crumbs to the meatballs for a binder. Also baked the balls for 16 minutes at 450 degrees, turning half way through. 👍🏻

I followed the other user's tip with shredding the carrot and radish as well as baking the meatballs. I left the jalapenos on the side since the wife isn't a big fan of spicy food. She also used regular mayonnaise instead of the sriracha mayo and thought they turned out great.

Overall the sandwich was great, just wished the daikon and carrots was more pickled. I lefted it more than an hour but wasn't enough, but overall will make again

This recipe is amazing! I needed a quick and easy midweek dinner and this worked out great. I followed the other tips and shredded my veggies and am really glad I did. I also used frozen meatballs and defrosted them in the microwave and then threw them in a pan and cooked them with some Worcestershire sauce and low sodium soy sauce for some flavor.

I chopped fresh basil and added it to the meat before cooking. I wish I had added ginger to the pickled veggies. I did add red onions to the veggies and had to use radishes instead of daikon. Maybe the daikon would have added a better flavor. Oh, forgot to mention I used ground turkey instead of pork, and Italian rolls instead of French bread.

These are simple and fantastic. I used red radishes due to living in a small town in ND and therefore no Daikon.

If you scoop out a bit of baguette, you make room for extra pickles and meatballs. Also I bake the meatballs for 15 minutes at 400 degrees to avoid extra fat and spattering in the pan.
