How does the Tasty Grocery Bag work in the Tasty app?

If you are shopping ingredients from multiple recipes, any items that are needed for multiple recipes will be grouped under a section labeled “Shared Ingredients”.
What is the section labeled “Pantry Ingredients” in my Tasty Grocery Bag?
Pantry Ingredients are pantry staples like salt and pepper – items we think you might already have at home. These items will be listed in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app if they’re needed for a recipe, but are automatically not added to your order. If you’d like to purchase them, simply tap the blue “+” button for that item, and that item will be added to your Tasty Grocery Bag.
What if I want to select a different brand for a product in the Tasty Grocery Bag?
Tap the “Swap” button under any item in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app. From there, you’ll be able to switch to a different brand of the same product. For example, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want a different brand of rice, you can make that substitution directly in the Tasty Grocery bag. However, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want to use potatoes instead, you won’t be able to make that substitution within the Tasty Grocery Bag. Once you tap the “Check out with Walmart” button, you’ll be taken to Walmart where you’ll be able to search for and add potatoes to your order.
Why do you need my location?
We ask for your location in order to give you the most up-to-date estimated pricing and availability information for the products we show in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app.
Are the prices I see in my Tasty Grocery Bag accurate?

Preparation
In a medium bowl, season the beef with salt and pepper and toss to coat.
Add ¼ cup (30 g) of flour, and toss the beef cubes until they are fully coated.
In a large pan over medium-high heat, heat the canola oil until it shimmers. Place about half of the beef cubes in the pan. Sear the beef on one side until it develops a deep brown crust, 3-5 minutes. Then flip and sear on the other side for 3-5 minutes. Then, stir the beef until evenly browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the pan. Repeat with the remaining meat.

Melt the butter in the leftover meat drippings.
Add the onion, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the onions are soft and slightly golden, about 5 minutes.
Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until deeply browned and tender, about 10 minutes.

Add the cognac and scrape the brown bits, releasing them from the bottom of the pan. Cook and stir until the cognac is fully incorporated, about 2 minutes.
Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup (30 g) flour into the pan and stir to coat the the caramelized veggies.
Add the beef broth and stir it into the flour and vegetables. Bring the liquid to a boil, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 10 minutes. The sauce should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Once the sauce is thickened, turn off the heat. Put two scoops of hot gravy into a bowl with the sour cream. Mix the two together to slightly warm, or temper, the sour cream. Then add the sour cream mixture to the rest of the gravy and stir it in until fully combined.
Sprinkle the stroganoff with chopped parsley and serve with buttered egg noodles, rice, or potatoes.
I also cooked the steak less time and used more sour cream

I agree with cooking the meat a little less than the recipe calls for. I also cut it a bit smaller. So good, and easy!!

I didn’t want the steak overdone so I cooked it less the the recipe calls for and only added it back in at the very end. It was perfect.

If you dont have cognac on spare, use any bourbon because it's the same thing except cognac is from a region in France. AMAZING TRY IT RIGHT NOW

Great recipe! I substituted the cognac for cooking wine and it turned out great. I would also dredge the beef cubes individually, as when I did it in a mixing bowl the blood in the meat made all the cubes stick together.

Add some garlic powder for a little more flavor. Also, I did not have cognac or brandy so I used beef broth in lieu of it.

Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful! Mine didn’t turn out as brown as the video, but the taste is soooo good! I also had to use Maker’s Mark instead of cognac. We ate it with potatoes, noodles next time. For sure will make again!

I cut up a round roast instead of sirloin. Used white wine instead of cognac. Cooked the beef a little longer so it melted in your mouth. And I used Axle Rod Onion Dip and Dressing sour cream, instead of plain sour cream. It came out great. A huge hit with my family. Will definitely make again.
