If you are shopping ingredients from multiple recipes, any items that are needed for multiple recipes will be grouped under a section labeled “Shared Ingredients”.
What is the section labeled “Pantry Ingredients” in my Tasty Grocery Bag?
Pantry Ingredients are pantry staples like salt and pepper – items we think you might already have at home. These items will be listed in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app if they’re needed for a recipe, but are automatically not added to your order. If you’d like to purchase them, simply tap the blue “+” button for that item, and that item will be added to your Tasty Grocery Bag.
What if I want to select a different brand for a product in the Tasty Grocery Bag?
Tap the “Swap” button under any item in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app. From there, you’ll be able to switch to a different brand of the same product. For example, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want a different brand of rice, you can make that substitution directly in the Tasty Grocery bag. However, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want to use potatoes instead, you won’t be able to make that substitution within the Tasty Grocery Bag. Once you tap the “Check out with Walmart” button, you’ll be taken to Walmart where you’ll be able to search for and add potatoes to your order.
Why do you need my location?
We ask for your location in order to give you the most up-to-date estimated pricing and availability information for the products we show in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app.

Preparation
In a food processor, place mushrooms, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme and blend into a fine paste (about 30-60 seconds).
Transfer to a medium-sized frying pan, being sure to spread it evenly across the bottom of the pan.
Cook the mushrooms over medium-low heat while stirring frequently. After about 7-10 minutes the mushroom mixture should shrink to half the original volume and begin to form a paste.

NOTE: The goal here is to cook off the bulk of the water inside the mushrooms. This’ll keep the puff pastry from being too mushy at the end.
At this point, remove the mushroom mixture from the heat and set it aside.
Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C).

Liberally season the outside of the tenderloin pieces with salt and pepper.
In another medium-sized frying pan, heat 2 tablespoons of neutral oil over high heat. Once the oil has begun to smoke, quickly sear the tenderloin pieces on both sides (45-60 seconds per-side).
Once seared, transfer the meat to a plate or cutting board to rest.
Using a basting brush, generously paint the mustard over the resting pieces of beef, making sure to coat both sides.
To assemble the Wellingtons, lay out a piece of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place a piece of ham in the center of the pasty.
Next, layer about 1 tablespoon of the mushroom mixture on the center of the ham using the back of a spoon to flatten the paste to about the size of the tenderloin pieces.
Place one of the mustard-coated beef fillet on top of the mushroom mixture, then top the piece of beef with another spoonful of the mushroom mixture, making sure to pat it down flat across the top of the meat.
Layer with another piece of ham and close the the Wellington by folding the puff pastry over the center of the meat.
Using your hands, carefully seal the edges of the pastry then transfer SEAM-SIDE DOWN to a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Lightly brush the outside of each Wellington with egg wash.
Using the back of a paring knife, lightly score the tops of the pasty in a checkered pattern, being careful not to pierce the pastry.
Bake the Wellingtons in a 400˚F (200˚C) oven until the pastry is fully cooked and golden brown (about 20 minutes).
Allow each Wellington to rest at least 10 minutes before cutting into it.
Switch out the ham for prosciutto. If your making Beef Wellington it won’t hurt to spend the few extra dollars for the best results.

Instead of puff pastry, I tend to use filo pastry to reach a crispier and flakier texture.

Make sure you really get all the water out of that mushroom mix. If its too soggy the bread wont cook right around the meat and it will seem uncooked.

When making this try to trim the excess puff pastry because it can get a little thick in the overlap areas. Also go heavy handed when using the mushroom because I accidentally had a lot left over,

This was absolutely delicious. I attempted to follow the recipe as per instructions, however, I did not have tenderloin beef so I substituted with pork fillet & the mushroom took much longer to cook. It turned out beautifully. I’ll definitely try this again.

We used Coleman’s English Mustard - it has a hint of horseradish which compliments the beef really well!

I’m not a mushroom fan so I left out the mushroom paste and I also used prosciutto instead of ham, but they turned out amazing! Will definitely make again!

Put a pancake on the bottom to prevent the pastry from going soggy, and used filet steak and I couldn’t find tenderloin at my supermarket (nor could the butcher). Absolutely delicious!!

Christmas dinner for two. Put pan in oven for a minute or two then put beef Wellington on it to avoid soggy base. Our steak is more than 6 oz. so it take about 35 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown. Definitely more than 20 minutes. Tastes amazing!
