If you’ve never heard of mandu, it’s a Korean-style dumpling that can be filled with a variety of toppings and boiled, steamed, or fried. This recipe uses a mixture of tofu, pork, beef, kimchi, scallions, and seasonings. The mandu are boiled until they’re tender, chewy, and bursting with flavor. Thanks to store-bought wrappers, it’s easy to make a big batch of these dumplings to feed a crowd or freeze for later.

Tap the “Swap” button under any item in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app. From there, you’ll be able to switch to a different brand of the same product. For example, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want a different brand of rice, you can make that substitution directly in the Tasty Grocery bag. However, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want to use potatoes instead, you won’t be able to make that substitution within the Tasty Grocery Bag. Once you tap the “Check out with Walmart” button, you’ll be taken to Walmart where you’ll be able to search for and add potatoes to your order.

I would actually recommend upping the amount of seasoning sauce, salt, pepper, and kimchi used in this recipe. The filling smelled great before filling the dumplings but it ended up tasting just a bit bland - will be making these modifications next go round! Overall not bad and would try again! PS dumpling-making is a great date night idea 😉😊
Make sure you don’t put too much meat in the wrapper so it won’t break the skin when boiling.

Just a tip. I haven’t made these yet, but I have made Mandu for New Years before. Cooking the Mandu how the video shows is good for soups, but if you like a crispy texture I also recommend frying it. (It is just a good texture)

They taste better if you steamed them rather then boiling

This recipe is so good. You have to make it!!! We went to the store to buy all the ingredients they didn’t have any dumpling wrappers, but they did have won ton wrappers so we used that. The wonton wrappers leaked in the boiling water and were all filled with water so instead we fried them. They came out amazing!!! Try pan frying them, you won’t regret it!
I shallow fried these and WOW! So good!
