Submit your recipeIf you're using regular sandwich bread (or any thinner bread than brioche) DO NOT soak it for 15 minutes or it will fall apart! I did about 4 minutes each side and it turned out great.
So yummy!!! If using normal sliced bread don’t soak for toooo long otherwise it will fall apart before it hits the pan!
I made this except for the topping part. It was delicious! I didnt have nutmeg but it still turned out tasty, and I used french toast bread (pepperidge farm) I didnt soak it nearly as it suggested, and they still are great! you can substitute the strudel for a light dusting of powdered sugar and some maple syrup on the side!

OMG DELICIOUS!! Fairly standard recipe but the streusel topping takes it to a whole other level. I could eat spoonfuls of that stuff. Quick tip 😊👍🏼; I soaked my bread for 3 min on each side and they were ready to fall apart in my hands so check them by lifting up a corner every few minutes. The full 5 + 10 min and the bread will essentially disintegrate.
I substuted the walnut mix for maple bacon and OMG!!
I made them without the whole cream so I thinks it’s optional. Anyhow, it tasted delicious.
Skipped the sugar in the recipe and went for maple syrup drizzle instead!
didn't use nutmeg but still came out delicious! also can be made with white sugar. Good thing I only let my brioche bread sit for a minute, it came out on point
The walnut streusel doesn’t need so much time. I cooked it for ten minutes on each side, and it burnt.
Turned out really well! We used country buttermilk bread and soaked each side for 2 minutes instead of the recommended 10. Other than that, was amazing.
I Made It With Oat Milk No Heavy Cream Syrup Made It 2 Rich So I Made It A 2nd Time An Without The Syrup It Was So Good
I used whole wheat bread. It only needed to be dipped in the egg mix for a second on each side. I didn’t have heavy cream so I just used more milk. The strudel was tasty. I ended up burning the first batch in my oven. It could be just my oven but I took it out a few minutes earlier the second time around. With the leftovers I used them in my plain oatmeal.
