How does the Tasty Grocery Bag work in the Tasty app?

If you are shopping ingredients from multiple recipes, any items that are needed for multiple recipes will be grouped under a section labeled “Shared Ingredients”.
What is the section labeled “Pantry Ingredients” in my Tasty Grocery Bag?
Pantry Ingredients are pantry staples like salt and pepper – items we think you might already have at home. These items will be listed in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app if they’re needed for a recipe, but are automatically not added to your order. If you’d like to purchase them, simply tap the blue “+” button for that item, and that item will be added to your Tasty Grocery Bag.
What if I want to select a different brand for a product in the Tasty Grocery Bag?
Tap the “Swap” button under any item in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app. From there, you’ll be able to switch to a different brand of the same product. For example, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want a different brand of rice, you can make that substitution directly in the Tasty Grocery bag. However, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want to use potatoes instead, you won’t be able to make that substitution within the Tasty Grocery Bag. Once you tap the “Check out with Walmart” button, you’ll be taken to Walmart where you’ll be able to search for and add potatoes to your order.
Why do you need my location?
We ask for your location in order to give you the most up-to-date estimated pricing and availability information for the products we show in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app.
Are the prices I see in my Tasty Grocery Bag accurate?
All pricing information displayed in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app is estimated and does not include tax. You will be able to see final pricing, including any additional taxes and fees once you leave the Tasty app to check out with Walmart.

Preparation
Add onions and 2 tablespoons of oil to a blender and pulse until smooth. Transfer to a medium bowl.
Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and habanero pepper to the blender, and pulse until smooth. Transfer to a separate medium bowl.
Heat the remaining ⅓ cup (80 ml) of oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.

Once the oil is shimmering, add the onion puree and cook until the water has cooked out and the puree is starting to brown, about 10 minutes.
Stir in the tomato puree and add the curry powder, garlic powder, ginger, dried herbs, and crushed bouillon cubes. Cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the stew has reduced by half and is deep red in color.
Add the rice, mixed vegetables, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with foil and a lid. Simmer for another 30 minutes, until the rice is cooked through and the liquid is absorbed.

No habanero, so substituted three Thai chili peppers. Still spicy and delicious. The puréed onions turned my kitchen into a tear inducing war zone. I was forced to go find clear glasses to finish browning the onion. I would do it all over again as it came out so good! Gonna invest in some safety goggles for the next time lol

It’s a customizable recipe, so taste the sauce as you go along to make sure it’s up to your standards. And jasmine rice is the best rice to use 🇬🇭

It was so delicious. I had to put extra water in the recipe because the rice wasn’t soft enough. This was my first time making it. I also added pre cooked shrimp along with the vegetables and it turned out great.

After the last 30 minutes, be sure to stir occasionally or the bottom might burn. I had a pack of 12oz of mixed vegetables and put the whole thing in. One cup seemed like too little.

The taste was great! Used less bouillon and added shredded chicken & diced bell pepper to it. When it’s done cooking I added some yellow raisins! (Like how they do it in pineapple fried rice) 10/10

This rice was delicious, but I would recommend adding 2 more cups of water because the rice was tough otherwise
