This is delicious, served with coconut rice and bok Choy, I cooked the leftover marinade and made into a sauce I drizzled over, yum
Easy recipe to make and it’s yummy. The pork melts in the mouth. Love this!

I made 1kg and it took 1 hour in the oven that’s with me taking it out and turning it and painting more of the marinade on! It was delightful, probably doesn’t need as much sugar though
Make sure you let the pork marinate! I usually substitute the pork for beef(really good btw and you don’t have to marinate it for that long(1hr-2hr should be good for beef)) made the pork thinking it’d be the same amount of time as the beef marinating. Nope! Could barely taste the seasonings at all. Completely my fault though.
We sousvide it for 5 hours at 176 degrees and then broiled it for 10 min per side. It was super delicious and tender. I reserved and boiled the the marinade and based it at the end.
-double the sauce ingredients (no preserved tofu), boil it down to a sauce consistency and brush onto pork during roasting. -be sure sliced pork isn’t too thin or it may burn before it caramelizes -line the baking tray with aluminum foil because dripping marinade will burn This was delish. My family loved it and I will def make it again.
Didn’t have oyster sauce so just added extra soy sauce but it was still so good.
It came out delicious! I did have to have it in my he oven longer. I put it in 40mins, flipping halfway. Then I broiled on high for 10mins. It turned out great and I can’t wait to make it again. P.S. It’s amazing with Japanese Steak Sauce.
I used molasses instead of honey and I used red wine. It really changed the flavor,I could really tastes the molasses! With a convection oven,I roasted my 20 oz pork belly at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Instead of rice I made mashed potatoes, and it was really good!I probably wouldn’t make this again, mainly because the marinade tasted a little funky to me.
I'm Malaysian and I can say this recipe is as good as the ones here ! I didnt use fermented tofu because i ran out of it but it still tasted so good!!! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CHAR AROUND IT. IF NOT ITS NOT CHAR SIU HEHE
