These peppermint macarons will become an instant holiday classic. Have fun piping out the mezmerizing meringue cookies and filling them with a rich chocolate ganache. And for a little extra flair, roll them in crushed candy canes.

I baked mine for the full 20 and they got slightly brown...I don’t know why. Recipe was very easy to follow otherwise.

Have patience when making these! Make sure your eggs are whipped enough, make sure you bang them enough for air bubbles to come out, and make sure you let them sit out for a long while before baking!
Tasted delicious. Watch the browning if you cook multiple sheets. Start checking at 17 or 18 min. But a great first try! The tasty 101 Macaron video is a great one to watch for technique
I love this recipe! One thing I did was I baked them for only 15 minutes in the middle oven rack and it worked way better. They didn't brown and kept the nice white and red colors. I also used finely crushed candy canes so it was easier to eat and not overpowering. The ganache was a little loose so I put it in the freezer for a few minutes is it was perfect
I made these for a competition and they won so they are really good
This are delicious, but I prefer watching the original macaron “tasty 101 macaron” first if you haven’t made macarons before. It really goes more into depth and how to make the macarons “picture perfect”
While these taste good and are very festive, they aren’t really “real” macarons. If you want to make perfect macarons, use a recipe with cream of tartar because it create an AMAZING macaron. This is a picture of macarons I made with cream of tartar on my first try.
Just FYI it’s good to bake these at 310 degrees for 16 minutes on a lower rack so they don’t get burnt
I dyed them red but, they tasted delicious!
Why I wouldn’t make these again? I think the photo says it all…
