Submit your recipeFor years, I’ve been making this extremely similar recipe that I got from Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook, about 20 years ago! The only difference is it was with chicken breasts and not steak. I personally find capers way too salty (especially coupled with Dijon mustard), so I always sub them here with mushrooms. 😋
@megan.young No need to be so negative it’s an app FULL of recipes. So there may be repeats. Just live life and enjoy something like this was even created 🖤💙❤️
No need to add more salt to the sauce as the capers already giving salty taste.. i added tablespoon of honey to balance the saltiness and complement the mustard .. also i served it with baked potato/sweet potato

Delicious!! I added some Worcester sauce and honey to the mustard sauce, which balanced out the saltiness nicely
Def delish! Will make again !
Lower the cook times on the steak. 2:45 per side was mostly medium rare. Sauce is delicious. But I believe steak should be by itself. Great sauce for chicken with white wine pairing !
Rinsing the capers would help cut down the salt factor!
I added some portobello mushrooms to the sauce
I made this and it turned out well but it was a bit salty
After reading some of the tips and reviews, I rinsed and soaked the capers and used fewer. The flavor of the sauce was fantastic! I found the cook time of the steaks a little long for my taste, so, we reduced that.
I used sweetened evaporated milk in both the mustard sauce recipe and from an Idahoan mashed potato box. 😅 I didn’t have milk and gave it a try. I also used 2tbsp of white wine vinegar with the recipe too, I didn’t have dry white wine. I actually liked the recipe, and found that both the mustard sauce and mashed potatoes compliment each other. Liked recipe!
I used mushrooms instead of capers, as well. Nice sauce.
