If you are shopping ingredients from multiple recipes, any items that are needed for multiple recipes will be grouped under a section labeled “Shared Ingredients”.
What is the section labeled “Pantry Ingredients” in my Tasty Grocery Bag?
Pantry Ingredients are pantry staples like salt and pepper – items we think you might already have at home. These items will be listed in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app if they’re needed for a recipe, but are automatically not added to your order. If you’d like to purchase them, simply tap the blue “+” button for that item, and that item will be added to your Tasty Grocery Bag.
What if I want to select a different brand for a product in the Tasty Grocery Bag?
Tap the “Swap” button under any item in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app. From there, you’ll be able to switch to a different brand of the same product. For example, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want a different brand of rice, you can make that substitution directly in the Tasty Grocery bag. However, if a recipe calls for rice, and you want to use potatoes instead, you won’t be able to make that substitution within the Tasty Grocery Bag. Once you tap the “Check out with Walmart” button, you’ll be taken to Walmart where you’ll be able to search for and add potatoes to your order.
Why do you need my location?
We ask for your location in order to give you the most up-to-date estimated pricing and availability information for the products we show in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app.
Are the prices I see in my Tasty Grocery Bag accurate?
All pricing information displayed in your Tasty Grocery Bag in the app is estimated and does not include tax. You will be able to see final pricing, including any additional taxes and fees once you leave the Tasty app to check out with Walmart.

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 400˚F (200˚C).
In a large pot of salted boiling water, blanch the green beans for 3 minutes, until tender and bright green. Drain and transfer to a 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.
Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a large pan over high heat. Add the onions and cook for 8 minutes, until softened and translucent.

Add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes, until browned. Add the garlic and cook just until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Transfer the vegetable mixture to the casserole dish with the green beans. Wipe out the pan.
Melt the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter in the same pan. Add the flour and stir to combine. Cook until a golden brown roux forms, for 5 minutes.

Add the milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, chicken broth, and Parmesan cheese, and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until the sauce is thickened, about 10 minutes.
Pour the sauce evenly over the vegetables in the casserole dish and toss until everything is well coated. Cover with foil.
Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
Top the casserole with the fried onions, then serve.
I read tips from others to drain the mushroom/onion/garlic mixture before putting into the baking dish, as it was too soupy otherwise. I did this and it came out the perfect consistency!

I followed this recipe exactly and it just did not work out like I thought it should. I consider myself a pretty good cook, so I was surprised when this was not great. I think maybe I should have drained the onion and mushroom mixture before mixing it with the beans and sauce. It came out soupy instead of creamy. 🤷🏻♀️

I will never make any other green bean casserole again! I cooked my green beans longer as I like them on the softer side. I also reduced the salt by half and found that to be the perfect amount. A lot of comments said to drain the mushroom mixture which I don't reccomend - crank the burner to high and let the water cook off which concentrates the flavor.

Cooked the green beans longer, used portabella mushrooms, and added a little more parm before popping it into the oven! Delicious!

Made this without the mushrooms, diced the onions instead and sprinkled the top with more Parmesan before putting it in the oven and it came out great! Brought this to a big thanksgiving dinner and everyone loved it. Would recommend this recipe.

Definitely use fresh green beans. I made two, one with fresh green beans and one with canned green beans. The taste was noteable

Let the green beans boil for at least 10 minutes. Even after cooking, the beans were pretty crunchy at a 3 minute boil

TIP: Boil the green beans for 10 minutes. And, drain the mushrooms and onions before mixing. I also added about a cup more of Parmesan. It’s absolutely delicious. My husband licked the bowl clean.
