Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Ring

This yummy appetizer uses leftover cooked chicken and store-bought dough in the most show-stopping way — and it tastes fantastic, too! This sensational dish combines the bold flavors of spicy buffalo chicken and creamy cheese, all enrobed in a flaky crescent roll crust. The filling, a simple mix of cream cheese, hot sauce, shredded chicken, and luscious cheese, is wrapped with crescent roll triangles in a stunning ring formation. As it bakes in the oven, the filling becomes hot and melty, and the crust turns perfectly golden brown and flaky. To serve, cut the ring into slices with a bowl of ranch dressing in the center for dipping.

Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Ring

  • 4 oz cream cheese (115 g)
  • ¼ cup hot sauce (60 mL)
  • 2 ½ cups chicken (350 g), cooked
  • 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese (100 g)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (100 g)
  • 8 oz refrigerated crescent dinner roll (225 g), 2 cans

  1. Preheat the oven to 375˚F (190˚C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cream cheese and hot sauce until smooth.
  3. Mix in the chicken and Monterey Jack cheese until well combined.
  4. Unroll the cans of dough and separate into triangles. On a large cookie sheet, arrange the triangles in a ring; the dough should overlap, leaving around 5 inches (12 ¾ cm) in the center.
  5. Layer half of the mozzarella on each triangle closest to the ring.
  6. Spoon the chicken mixture on top of the mozzarella. Top with the remaining mozzarella.
  7. Bring the tops of each triangle over the filling and tuck the edges under the bottom layer of dough.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
  9. Cool for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into serving slices. Serve with your choice of dressing.
