Cheesy Hash Brown Quiche


for 6 pieces

  • 3 cups (630 g) frozen hash brown, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup (35 g) onion, chopped
  • ½ lb (225 g) seasoned sausage, of your choice, we used Italian chicken
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup (120 mL) milk
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste


  1. Mix hash browns with butter and salt, and press into a 9-inch (20cm) pie plate.
  2. Bake at 450°F (230°C) for 20 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Meanwhile, cook sausage and onions in a skillet until onions are clear and sausage is cooked and crumbled.
  4. Transfer to a bowl and cool.
  5. Add the eggs, cheese, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix.
  6. Pour into the hash brown crust.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for an additional 30 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cut and serve with your favorite toppings.
