Nigella Lawson Has A Weird Hack For Centering Egg Yolks That's Kinda Genius

Try this on Easter...or any day for brunch.

If you're into food, chances are you know who Nigella Lawson is.

She's the English food writer and TV personality that has taught a generation of home cooks the joys of making delicious, fuss-free food.

So when I came across her recipe for deviled eggs and noticed a rather ~peculiar~ recipe note, I had to share it.

The note? To keep your eggs stored on their sides the night before you make them.

"In order to help the yolk keep centered as they cook, I leave them lying on their sides in a dish (rather than sitting upright in their boxes) overnight out of the fridge before cooking them," reads her recipe note.

Why? Well, since the eggs are no longer sitting straight up, the yolks reposition themselves and float towards the center.

"It’s not a fail-safe guarantee," says Lawson, "but it does seem to make a difference."

So there you have it. The next time you hard-boil some eggs, try storing them on their sides the night before to make them especially beautiful.
