Ingredients

for 4 servings

  • ½ stick unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ⅓ cup dark brown sugar (65 g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 4 oz rum (100 mL)
  • 4 cups hot water (960 mL)

For Garnish

  • whipped cream
  • freshly grated nutmeg

Preparation

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the butter, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth
  2. Scoop 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture in a mug. Add 1 cup of hot water and stir to melt the butter. Stir in 1 ounce of rum.
  3. Garnish with whipped cream and freshly grated nutmeg.
