for 12 brownies

  • nonstick cooking spray, for greasing
  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 6 oz soda (175 g), of choice
  • powdered sugar, or cocoa powder, for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350˚F (180˚C). Line a 8-inch (20 cm) square baking dish with parchment paper and grease well with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the brownie mix and soda with an electric hand mixer until well combined with no lumps, about 2 minutes.
  3. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and bake for 35–40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  4. Let the brownies cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder, if desired.
  5. Cut into 12 squares
  6. Enjoy!
