French Onion Burger

for 3 servings

French Patty

  • 1 lb (455 g) ground beef, 80% lean
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 hamburger buns


  • 3 oz (85 g) comté cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup (150 g) caramelized onion
  • 1 cup (20 g) fresh arugula
  • mustard, of choice, to taste


Under 30 min

  1. Mix together the patty ingredients until evenly combined.
  2. Form the beef into a round patty.
  3. Repeat with the remaining beef.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Cook the burgers for 3 minutes on the first side, flip, and place the slice of comté on top.
  6. Cook for 6 more minutes.
  7. Assemble the burgers on the buns with caramelized onions and arugula.
  8. Enjoy!
